I am fond of this gentleman. He has allowed me to sketch him in his shop twice. It’s an interesting little shop located in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the plaza. Businessmen drop in, have their shoes shined, and scurry off to work.
We talk about our kids, what we do when we’re not working, and business. His daughter recently retired from the Navy and is living in San Diego. His son recently moved to San Diego and from what I understand is a very good artist. The day was beautiful as I was sketching this, and he spoke of enjoying the sunshine after he got off work. I love to take the time to sit and chat with people in their comfortable environment. I told him I would be back to sketch again.
Later I worked on the sketch.
