Salida CO
We arrived in Salida about 3:00 and went to the Jolleys. My bike was there and we needed to return odds and ends. While there I called ‘Oh Be Joyful Art Gallery’ and registered for the “open” competition in the plein air event. I’ll paint July 10th and 11th to submit work to be hopefully juried in. IF, AND ITS A BIG IF, I get in, I will compete in the quick draw Sat. Morning! Competition will be stiff. 100 artist are trying to get in to the invitational so the chances may be slim. But what the heck? I registered and I will do my best.
I ‘shopped’ in Martins art supply shed for canvas and frames. I didn’t bring frames, not thinking I would need any. Fortunately he had everything I needed! Thank you Martin. We will swing back through and either return all the supplies or celebrate! đŸ™‚
Salida Wal Mart
Pueblo CO
We stopped at the Pueblo State Park Sunday for a night. It was 99 degrees when we arrived. Fortunately we have AC. The evening cooled down to tolerable. By morning sunrise the AC coils were frozen and not working. Yicks! It had cooled way down and was really beautiful. Derald took a nice bike ride…great tails all over the park. I painted a small 9x 12. We did a load of laundry, took showers and packed up. We were out by 11:30.
I took sunrise pictures with my camera so I can’t share them yet. But here are some from the campgrounds.
Taos
New Mexico
We arrived at the camp in NM June 30. No connection so posts will be from Taos July 2-3. Typical NM weather. 85 when we arrived mid afternoon, then clouds rolled in with sprinkles. Just enough to pack up chairs, then it stopped. We took a hike with the dogs until sunset, then came back for supper. Derald fixed a yummy Mexican soup with Hatch chilies, (I know…big surprise) with avacados, chips and bean burgers.
New Mexico
Fly fishing in Northern CO with the Jolleys. Typical NM with warm days and showers in the afternoon. Jane and I went to Taos for two days…next post.
